The goose neck fitting is a large aluminum alloy pipe with a plastic bearing that slides over the internal mast rotation fixture (a smaller vertical aluminum pipe). Two large flat aluminum tangs are welded to this goose neck pipe. The pipe/tange assembly is bolted to the boom fitting with a 1/2" SS bolt that also functions as the axis of rotation for the reef line sheaves.
